Machiel studied Tax Law (Cost-increasing Taxes) at Leiden University and is the founder and managing director of VAT INSTITUTE. He founded the firm in 2001 and developed the organisation into a specialised VAT practice. In addition, Machiel focuses primarily on VAT advisory services for non-profit organisations.
